Transportation and Lodging Updates

The Grandfather Mountain Highland Games plans to off-set the $15 daily trip from Boone for Friday, Saturday and Sunday by reducing it to $10 per round trip; or if you have a 4-day advanced ticket the ride to and from the mountain (between the Caldwell Community & Technical College parking lot in Boone and MacRae Meadows only) will be completely free Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

The shuttle bus rides from Linville and the Avery County High School will still be $5 per round trip. These proceeds go to benefit the Crossnore Volunteer Fire Department. The ride from Avery County High School on Friday, Avery County High School and Linville Lots Saturday and Linville Lot Sunday will be free with the purchase of a 4-day advanced ticket.

We hope this will help increase our attendance and encourage families to stay for the entirety of the Games. This should also solve some of our parking problems.
