Ceilidh - Lees McRae College, Banner Elk, NC

Ceilidh? How do you pronounce it? What in the world is it? It is pronounced "kay-lee" phonetically. It is a Gaelic word meaning an informal gathering or sing.

Each year since our Highland Games began in 1956, we've had a ceilidh. We have the best informal Scottish entertainment with amateur and professional fold-singing, dancing, clapping, piping, drumming, fiddling and more!

We have two ceilidhs now: one on Friday evening and the other on Saturday evening. Both are at Hayes Auditorium, a part of the Lees-McRae College campus in Banner Elk.

You'll miss the most fun of our Grandfather Mountain Highland Games if you don't show. Bring the whole family--the wee bairns, and grandparents.

Our ceilidhs are as spontaneous as we can make them--exuberant celebrations of everything Scottish

8 PM Friday and Saturday nights at Lees-McRae College Auditorium.
